Job Title: Commercial Development Representative

Location: Lanham, MD

Type: Full-Time (40 hour week Monday-Friday), Long term temporary with potential to become permanent.

Start: ASAP

Salary: $50,000 / Year

Reports To: Commercial General Manager, Eastern Region

 

This position does require travel throughout the State

 

The Commercial Development Representative will primarily focus on maintaining the traffic safety enforcement programs operating throughout the Maryland Client Region. Additionally, the Commercial Development Representative will work with management to identify new market opportunity, and close business with new clients for traffic safety enforcement services (e.g. speed, red light, parking and vehicle impounding).

This position will work with upper management, customer service team, technical support, and product development teams to meet client expectations. Presenting to and communicating with Councils, Mayors, Sheriffs, Chiefs and other client stakeholders will comprise a significant part of the job. Assisting with preparation of sample ordinances, contract negotiations, client training in the use of products and services, RFP responses, and working with local legal and lobbying resources are also key to this role. The Commercial Development Representative will form direct working relationships with local government and law enforcement officials in order to successfully manage complex client accounts.

This position reports to the Commercial General Manager - Eastern Region and requires interfacing with personnel from all departments; including business development, executive management, information technology, manufacturing, legal, and operations in order to perform effectively in this high-profile role.

 

Requirements:

·         Reliable transportation and valid Driver’s License

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety Leadership, or a similar degree.

·         5 years’ experience in a similar role, or as a certified law enforcement officer and/or higher ranking official with sworn and non-sworn subordinates.

·         Leadership experience

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

·         Self-motivated, persistent, confident, ethical, upbeat, inquisitive, detail-orientated, and outgoing personality

·         Must be able to prioritize work, problem solve, and meet deadlines.

·         Effective interpersonal and seasoned leadership skills.

·         Must be able to work in a team.

 

Preferred:

·         Background in Law Enforcement

·         Experience with public relations, community relations, and/or community-oriented policing.
