Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for executing marketing programs across consumer contact points, which include the brewery’s social media footprint, website, email newsletter, loyalty program, visitor center, and customer service channels. This position is responsible for being the voice of Abita - bringing the brewery story to life through compelling content and interactive experiences. The Digital Marketing Specialist will be part of the marketing team and work closely with colleagues throughout the brewery, including the sales support team. Participation at Abita events and local festivals (some nights and weekends) is required. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Social Media & Online Consumer Engagement

  • Manage social media programs, including content (imagery, video, copy) & integration with brand communications & field sales
  • Daily execution of social media communication, monitoring & measurement
  • Execute social media promotions/special events across all platforms & manage optimization tactics for advertising campaigns
  • Keep up with industry trends & apply them to optimize performance of organic/paid outreach
  • Coordinate blogger outreach efforts
  • Manage the internal & external customer service functions across digital channels – email/social

Email Marketing & Brew Krewe Loyalty Program

  • Execute the on-going mix of products, promotions/specials, events & communication that maintain the integrity &value of Abita
  • Develop & write content for email initiatives from strategy, deployment and optimization
  • Manage and code email content where necessary
  • Measure & interpret results
  • Continuously grow membership

Website/Online Systems

  • Create, develop & manage content for brewery’s web presence
  • Update site content using HTML best practices within content management system
  • Coordinate & implement blogs across the organization
  • Lead sales event promotion from Abita channels
  • Responsible for management of Online Ordering System for both internal & external customers
  • Maintain all Inventory Management Systems & new item set up procedures related to e-commerce & distributor/sales team ordering systems
  • Management of Untappd System & Menu Creation for Brewery Guests
  • Manage the online Abita Media Library & marketing design online file system

 Sales Team Support

  • Assist the Sales Team with their event marketing tactics including small design projects & digital image needs to utilize in market promotions
  • Lead contact for all initial sales support requests & serve as the liaison between the sales team & other Abita personnel for marketing related requests

Strategy:

  • Responsible for collaborating on development of brand’s digital marketing strategy
  • Use marketing expertise to help direct strategy & planning for promo materials, sales tactics & other department activities
  • Assists in the development of new point of sale & retail items
  • Assists with Marketing efforts for the brewery tap room & visitor’s center
  • Responsible for collaborating on development of brand’s overall marketing strategy & contributing creative ideas
  • Guiding research & analysis appropriate for the brand in the areas of marketing effectiveness, consumer trends & competition
  • Collaborating on the brand creative process to develop sales & marketing programs

Education/Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Marketing or related field
  • 2-4 years of consumer brand digital marketing experience
  • Genuine enthusiasm for social relationship management
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management experience
  • Customer service orientation
  • Creative thinker with ability for disciplined quantitative analysis and reporting
  • Design experience would be beneficial for this role
  • Creative photography, videography and copywriting abilities
  • Photoshop and design proficiency preferred
  • HTML and experience with content management systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe programs (Indesign, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of digital marketing technology
  • Passion for Abita, the craft beer industry, and local New Orleans/Louisiana culture
  • Proven ability to grow a brand’s social media footprint and foster meaningful engagement
  • Genuine enthusiasm for social relationship management
  • Detail oriented
  • Disciplined time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks against requests if needed
  • Ability to develop creative solutions and procedures where needed to maximize system efficiency

  • This position frequently pushes/picks up/carries equipment
  • Work with office equipment such as computers, phones, fax machines and copiers

 Supervision of Others

This position is not responsible for supervising other personnel.
