The Product Analyst, HRIS bridges the gap between business and technology by translating solution requirements into product features that will meet customers’ needs while achieving business goals.

The Product Analyst, HRIS will be responsible for developing the product detailed requirements for the Human Resources (HR) line of business, and must possess an understanding of HR Information System (HRIS) functionality and a thorough understanding of product management disciplines and activities.

The Product Analyst, HRIS will bring a combination of business and technical perspectives to the role. The Product Analyst will work directly with the Product Manager HRIS during customer requirements gathering sessions and story mapping sessions to understand the business requirements. The Product Analyst will work directly with the HR development team and product management team to transform the business requirements into technical requirements, problem solve and prioritize the solution requirements and to demonstrate the developed mock-ups and products to our customers and internal staff.


+   Participate in customer interviews, market research and competitive research with the Product Manager to understand the customers’ requirements and market forces.

+   Collaborate with customers and Payworks stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements and to translate those into prioritized detailed requirements.

+   Represent the customer’s needs to the development team, answering their questions, solving problems, and researching approaches.

+   Collaborate with the Product Designers to develop intuitive user experiences.

+   Collaborate with the Business Analyst and technical development team to manage the product backlog by analyzing trade-offs between usability, performance needs, time to market, development cost, serviceability and other potential considerations.

+   Analyze current customer product usage and customer feedback to enhance the current HR product.

+   Create product help files, product bulletins, presentations and how-to guides.

+   Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of study and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

+   Minimum of three years Product Analyst experience, developing software products and working with development teams.

+   Exposure to various HRIS and an understanding of HR activities and cycles.

+   Experience with the Agile software development life cycle and best practices

+   Experience in analysis and research methods.

+   Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus experience delivering presentations to target audiences.

+   Experience with business process documentation/requirements.

+   Project management skills with the ability to use available tools
