Summary

Responsible for supervising the banquet/event staff and acting as the lead server to ensure quality guest service at all hotel banquet functions.       

 

Job Duties

Directs the set-up of events and areas for banquet/event functions.  Reviews all function sheets for last minute changes.  Ensures that all guest requests are promptly addressed.   Conducts pre-function meeting with staff to ensure the proper service and requirements of functions.  Assigns stations to servers, assigns side work functions and ensures that all duties are completed before each server signs out.  Coordinates and supervises all activities to ensure that each course is served in accordance to the client event order.  Completes final billing and presents to the guest for payment.  Ensures that all payments are processed in accordance to policy.  Provides prompt, professional and courteous service during banquet meal functions.  Functions as the lead server for banquet events.  Performs tableside or buffet food service as required.  Assists in the set-up and breakdown of functions when business demands are high.   Assist with the human resources function of the department including scheduling, training, coaching and development.

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  Ability to communicate effectively with others; understands and complies with all Company and departmental rules and regulations.  One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
