The Human Resources team provide daily administrative supports for summer programming, and preparation for Fall/Winter tasks. Working in small groups, or across departments, youth in these roles develop confidence and begin to master skills used in their writing, analysis and participation in the workplace. Our waterfall mentorship model means you will help others to learn things you are already an expert in and others will help you learn things you are working on yourself. These roles are progressive over the summer and youth are afforded as much scope and responsibility as they are willing and able to handle. It's a great way to 'level up' in a team setting where your voice and opinions genuinely make a difference daily.
Full-time summer employment contracts range from 8 -16 weeks, late April through September. Post-secondary students are welcomed and encouraged to apply for this position as part of their program’s requirements for a co-op or work placement. Contracts for most roles are offered at the Ontario minimum wage.
Some roles follow a hybrid work structure where employees both work from home or in person, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks and/or personal work preferences. Working from the office/studio/meeting location is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration. Training and Workshops may be online or in-person, as needed.
Due to federal funding requirements for this position, eligible applicants must:
- Be 15–30 years of age on their first day of work
- Be a Canadian citizen, have a permanent resident card, or be protected under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (there is no requirement to be a student)
- Be present in Canada while working
- Hold a valid Social Insurance Number, and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Human Resources Assistants facilitate the communication and accurate documentation of Human Resources records within the company, and with our community partners. They will handle the daily administrative and HR duties of the organization by providing clerical support; and assisting with record management and payroll processing.
Human Resources Coordinators facilitate the communication and accurate documentation of Human Resources records within the company, and with our community partners. They will plan, organize, engage in, and evaluate activities including but not limited to employee relations, recruitment & selection, training & development, compensation, strategic planning, occupational health & safety, finance & accounting, and HR analytics.
Receptionists manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, such as facilitating active communication and ensuring all department responsibilities are up to date and being maintained.
Data Specialists provide evidence-based reports for strategic planning. They will plan for data gathering, follow up on collection "in progress', compile data, statistics and other information to support research, grant writing activities, and HR strategies.
Typical Work Hours at the Co-op
- Regular hours Tuesday - Friday
- Rotational coverage for evenings and weekends as scheduled
- We are closed for all staff on Mondays
