Mortgage Department Manager

Position Summary

Has responsibility for the overall coordination and management of all the company's mortgage lending operations activities. This position reports to the Chief Lending Officer of First Guaranty Bank.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Developing, reviewing, and recommending overall operational systems and procedures relating to the mortgage lending function.
  2. Ensuring budgetary control in the mortgage lending operations department, including staff control and total personnel expense.
  3. Reviewing and recommending new methods and procedures to make daily operations more efficient.
  4. Planning and scheduling activities within the mortgage lending operations area and coordinating those activities with other functional areas.
  5. Controlling and monitoring the progress of all projects.
  6. Exercising the usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations.
  7. Acts as liaison between different departments and the Mortgage Department.
  8. Involved with Builder/Realtor organizations for the Mortgage Department.
  9. Adhere to BSA/AML policy and all other bank policies.
  10. Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

·         3-5 years in Mortgage Loan experience

·         Able to multi-task

·         Highly organized

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

·         Able to quickly learn new software systems

Note: This is a single-incumbent position.  Incumbents have responsibility for all the company's mortgage lending operations activities and typically have subordinate operations managers reporting to them.
