Do you have a passion for creating connections and finding resources for families and individuals? United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley is seeking individuals to serve as AmeriCorps members here in the Lehigh Valley.
The AmeriCorps Emergency Sheltering Member will support COVID-19 response and its substantial impact on the housing sector by assisting with intakes for the HMIS at the Bethlehem Emergency Shelter. Hours will generally be from 1pm-8pm, with some flexibility. An AmeriCorps assignment is a service position that is grant funded and lasts for 10 months.
The service term will begin ASAP and end in August/September 2022.. Members will serve approximately 20-30 hours per week.
AmeriCorps members earn a living stipend based on their service hours and upon successful completion of their term, they are eligible for an educational award that can be applied toward student loans or further educational expenses.
STIPEND - $8,471. Stipend will be split evenly across bi weekly pay periods.
EDUCATIONAL AWARD - $3,172
