Childcare Caregiver (2nd Adult Caregiver)
Are you an experienced childcare professional ready to advance into leadership? Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital (EBCH) Daycare is seeking a part-time 2nd Adult Caregiver who can develop into our full-time Daycare Team Leader. Working closely with the current Team Leader, the selected candidate will learn daily daycare operations and build the skills needed to lead and support the program.
The position will begin part-time at approximately three days per week, with the intention of transitioning the successful candidate into the full-time Daycare Team Leader role within approximately six months. Timing will depend on organizational needs, demonstrated performance, completion of required licenses and certifications, and readiness for the role. As a management position, the Daycare Team Leader leads the daycare team, oversees daily operations, supports staff, and helps maintain a safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment for children.

As the 2nd Adult Caregiver, you will support the Daycare Team Leader in delivering high-quality care while preparing for future leadership. Key responsibilities include implementing age-appropriate programs and daily routines, creating a nurturing environment that supports child development, applying positive behavior-management techniques, and maintaining a safe and healthy setting. Your work will help ensure every child receives attentive, dependable care.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Team Leader in executing daily care routines and developmental activities.
- Build the knowledge and skills needed to transition into the full-time Team Leader role through close collaboration with the Daycare Team Leader.
- Complete hands-on training in daycare operations, staff support, scheduling, program planning, regulatory compliance, and other leadership responsibilities.
- Assume progressively greater responsibility and leadership assignments as competency and readiness are demonstrated.
- Foster a safe, clean, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and development.
- Use positive, age-appropriate guidance and behavior-management techniques when engaging with children.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, health, and licensing regulations.
- Step into the primary caregiver role as a substitute when needed.
Wage:
- $24 - $27 per hour, based on previous experience, skill set and obtaining a license.
Schedule
- 3 days per week, Monday – Friday. The daycare is operational Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 5:00pm. This position will start as part-time and will have the opportunity to work up to the full-time Daycare Team Leader position.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification. Following all initial training course requirements, all minimum annual training per year required must be completed thereafter.
- Knowledge of state regulations and national accreditation principles and the ability to adhere to them in carrying out duties
- Knowledge of methods of instruction, care, supervision, and practices of toddlers, preschool-age children, and/or infants in a learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in early Childhood Education, family and Child Sciences, Child Development, or Early Childhood Special Education preferred.
