We are seeking a professional, experienced Field Sales Representative to join our team. This is a remote position that does require travel to visit and maintain communication with companies within the assigned geographic territory and with the service center team in Auburn, MA. 

The Field Sales Representative is responsible for providing premier customer service to all current and potential customers from the point of initial contact through delivery of the product. The Field Sales Representative works in a team-oriented environment.  Our ideal candidate is an ambitious individual with outstanding communication skills who understands the value of exceptional customer service and driving business goals.

Day-to-day Tasks and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Function well as a self-motivated entrepreneur with little day to day management.
  • Actively visit and maintain communication with key contacts at companies within assigned geographic territory and inquire about their needs and opportunities. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts at all established and prospect accounts within assigned territory.
  • Secure profitable business by creating greater customer value than the competition.
  • Compile leads, research, and solicit prospective customers.
  • Effectively communicate throughout assigned territory to acquire complete knowledge of the available markets and opportunities available. 
  • Obtain transactional orders, long-term and short-term contracts, along with pursuing all opportunities from existing and prospective customers, including the follow-up of existing quotations. 
  • Work to meet the established goals of assigned territory for both existing and targeted accounts as well as work to grow territory in accordance with the expected growth levels of the branch.
  • Inform customers of Corrosion Materials product capabilities and discuss how they fit within the established buying patterns of the customers.
  • Work with Inside Sales Representatives to maintain and grow established account base and focus on target accounts.
  • Provide weekly call reports and vendor reports to General Manager, as well as a monthly summary.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with other Field Sales Representatives, Inside Sales, and management.
  • Submit expense reports and other departmental expenses to Sales Manager in a timely manner for approval.
  • Adhere to all CMI safety rules, regulations, and quality standards, handbook policies, procedures, and business codes of ethics.

 Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of sales experience
  • Market experience, ensuring ability to recognize opportunities
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Valid State Driver's License; Safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related area
  • 4+ years of experience in sales and marketing
