Biohabitats, a leading conservation planning, ecological restoration, regenerative design, and construction firm is seeking restoration professional with a solid foundation in the principles of ecological restoration and applied experience leading restoration projects from concepts through construction drawings and implementation. With Bioregion offices nationwide, Biohabitats works throughout the country and internationally with public, private, and non-profit organizations to restore the earth and inspire ecological stewardship.
This position will lead a variety of public, private, and institutional projects throughout the Northeast Highlands and Coastal Bioregion and the Hudson River Bioregion, with an opportunity to collaborate on restoration projects being led out of other Bioregion offices. Projects, which will vary in type, scale, and complexity, may include ecological restoration master planning; stream, floodplain and wetland restoration; dam removal and fish passage; shoreline restoration; and stormwater management retrofitting.

Creating site-specific concept designs through construction documents.
Preparing specifications and cost estimates.
Providing construction phase services (e.g., bid support, construction observation).
Conducting natural resources and watershed inventories and field assessments.
Managing projects and coordinating project teams.
Applied experience leading stream, floodplain, and wetland restoration projects from concept through construction drawings and implementation.
Applied experience leading dam removal and fish passage projects from concept through construction drawings and implementation.
Client management and project management experience.
Proposal and task order development experience.
Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD for the development of design plans.
Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling methods, techniques, and analyses.
Ability to work both collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Applied experience with shoreline restoration and/or stormwater management retrofit projects.
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programs (e.g., TR-55/TR-20, StreamStats, WMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, HydroCAD).
Experience with MicroStation and ArcGIS / ArcMap / ArcGIS Pro.
Geomorphic assessment knowledge/experience (e.g., cross-sections, longitudinal profiles, pebble counts, etc.).
Sediment testing and analysis experience.
B.S. or M.S. in relevant field (e.g., Civil, Environmental, Ecological, or Biosystems Engineering; Fluvial Geomorphology; Restoration Ecology)
