Marketing and Communications Summer Student

Are you a tech-savvy communications student with strong writing skills? We would love to meet you. EMILI is looking for a summer student interested in digital storytelling to support a variety of projects taking place this summer. Working closely with the Communications Manager, this role will be responsible for drafting content for a variety of channels including social media, web copy, blog posts, video, and email campaigns. The majority of work is remote, based in Winnipeg with regular in person meetings and activities. As an industry-led non-profit based in Manitoba, EMILI works collaboratively with producers, industry, investors, and innovators to grow a sustainable, economically resilient agriculture industry. Your ability to absorb information to tell compelling stories is more important than previous experience in agriculture so if you haven’t worked in agriculture before, don’t let that stop you. 

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

• Strong writing skills and understanding of different writing styles required across diverse platforms.

• Strong technical and creative problem solving skills 

• Understanding of Google analytics and ability to apply Search Engine Optimization for marketing purposes.

• Currently enrolled in an agribusiness, creative communications, or related program

• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively working both independently and collaboratively

• Excellent communication and time management skills

• Photography skills are an asset

• Suitable home workspace for remote workdays

• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation  

This role has some flexibility with start and end dates from mid-April to the end of August.
