Job Responsibilities

The Internal Agricultural Equipment Sales Representative supports the sale of new and used agricultural equipment to both new and existing customers while reconnecting with previous customers. This entry-level, non-territory position is designed to train and develop strong product knowledge, build customer relationships, and gain valuable experience in dealership operation while working closely with the sales team. 

This position reports to the Corporate Used Equipment Manager 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess customers’ needs and recommend appropriate equipment or services
  • Identify and pursue new sales leads to grow the customer base
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to provide excellent customer service
  • Prepare and administer sales contracts following an established sales process
  • Stay current on used equipment values for accurate trade-in evaluations
  • Maintain knowledge of equipment technology and industry innovations
  • Utilize sales and marketing software tools to remain informed on financing options
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations and maintain up to date product knowledge
  • Provide ongoing customer support after the sale
  • Maintain and update customer profiles to ensure accurate records
  • Reconnect with previous customer to maintain strong relationships
  • Use a consultative sales approach to identify needs and present equipment solutions 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, agriculture or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong interest in agriculture and equipment sales
  • Understanding of agriculture operations and farming practices
  • Experience operating John Deere equipment considered an asset
  • Knowledge of precision agriculture systems and technology preferred
  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills
  • Positive attitude with high energy and motivation
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a sales team
  • Self-motivated, organized and proactive
  • Proficient computer and software skills
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible or expended hours when required 

Individuals with farming experience, agricultural education or dealership experience who are interested in developing a career in equipment sales are encouraged to apply. Training and mentorship will be provided. 

Wage Range

  • $60,000 - $80,000 per year
  • This position includes a draw-against-commission structure with the draw guaranteed for the first year
  • Commission performance is reviewed annually
  • High performers may receive additional commissions
  • Placement within the pay range is based on skills, experience, and qualifications
