The Root Cellar sprouted from a deep passion for fresh, local food and sustainable food systems. 

What began as a small idea quickly took root in Victoria, where the community embraced and amplified that passion - helping The Root Cellar grow into what it is today. Across both markets, we proudly offer Vancouver Island’s widest selection of locally grown, organic, and conventional produce, alongside a full-service butcher and deli, artisanal groceries, dairy, fresh breads, and bulk foods. 

At The Root Cellar, we’re committed to supporting local farmers and makers, celebrating great food, and creating a welcoming place where quality, care, and community come together under one roof.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• The ability to work a variety of shifts including early mornings (6:00am), evenings (until 10:00pm), and weekends.
• The ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for long periods of time, work in a cool environment, and lift up to 50lbs.
• The ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a busy environment.
• The ability to work well within a team.
• Previous retail/customer service experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude!
