MacCosham has been providing rail yard terminal services for over 50 years and is experienced in the management of a variety of yard configurations. In addition to our rail intermodal terminal services, including lift-on/lift-off of containers and hostler services, we also operate several container and chassis repair depots associated with rail yard terminal services, with a full range of mechanical, welding, and associated repair services. 

 

MacCosham Inc. is looking for a full-time, permanent Licensed Trailer Technician to join our growing team in Regina Saskatchewan.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for maintaining MacCosham and client equipment, including trailers, containers, chassis, and other equipment, in a safe and cost-efficient manner
  • Perform and sign off on CVIP inspections and repairs
  • Mentor and monitor the work of assigned apprentice mechanics, mechanic helpers, and tire technicians
  • Performing routine maintenance and servicing, including all fleet maintenance processes
  • Make repairs on units in a timely and safe manner while maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Performing tire change, replacement, and maintenance
  • Assisting with after-hours service calls as needed
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Performing other related duties as required or assigned.

 Qualifications:

 

  •        Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License
  •    Vehicle Inspection Technician License required
  •       At least one year of experience repairing and maintaining trailers
  •     Comfortable working outdoors occasionally
  •     Forklift experience is considered an asset
  •       Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  •      Must have basic computer skills and be comfortable working with iPads
  •      Capable of working under minimal supervision
  •       Must demonstrate safe and efficient workplace practices
  •      Highly motivated team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  •        Able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
  •        Strong attention to detail
  •       High school diploma or equivalent is required
  •      Capable of meeting the physical demands of the heavy-duty equipment environment (i.e., lifting up to 75 pounds)
