Production Supervisor – Truss Manufacturing

Day Shift | Full-Time, Permanent
Fort Macleod, AB

Structural Truss Systems specializes in the design, manufacturing, and transportation of custom roof trusses, floor systems, and wall panels for residential, commercial, and agricultural projects. We operate out of a 90,000+ sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Fort Macleod, AB, just 25 minutes west of Lethbridge.

Our new Fort Macleod facility is seeking a people-first Production Supervisor who believes strong results come from strong teams, clear expectations, and consistent leadership.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor provides hands-on leadership to foremen and frontline teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role balances operational accountability with a coaching and caring leadership mindset, ensuring people feel supported, challenged, and aligned while production, safety, and quality goals are achieved.

This position is ideal for a calm, steady leader who can make decisions under pressure, develop people, and continuously improve systems—not just react to daily issues.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership, Culture & Coaching

  • Lead with consistency, respect, and fairness, building trust across teams
  • Coach and develop foremen and employees to strengthen skills, confidence, and accountability
  • Set clear expectations and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Address performance, attendance, or behaviour concerns early and professionally
  • Foster a culture of psychological safety, ownership, and continuous improvement

Operational Leadership

  • Support daily production execution while balancing people, equipment, and schedules
  • Adjust plans decisively when conditions change or information is incomplete
  • Identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and workflow disruptions
  • Think system-wide, understanding how decisions impact downstream operations
  • Use production data and KPIs to guide decisions and improvements

Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Reinforce that safety and quality are leadership responsibilities
  • Ensure standards are upheld and intervene when work must stop
  • Analyze issues using lean manufacturing principles and root-cause thinking to prevent repeat problems
  • Challenge the status quo and implement sustainable process improvements
  • Surface risks early and collaborate with leadership on solutions

What We’re Looking For

Leadership & Mindset

  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing employees
  • Calm, steady leadership presence in high-pressure environments
  • Comfortable holding boundaries and being accountable for outcomes
  • Values people, safety, and quality over short-term output

Operational & Technical Foundations

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, or operations environments
  • Understanding of workflows, capacity planning, and throughput
  • Familiarity with KPIs, schedules, and performance metrics
  • Experience coordinating people, equipment, and time in safety-sensitive settings
  • Truss industry experience is an asset, but not required

At Structural Truss,  Core Values are at the heart of everything we do. To be successful in this role, the ideal Candidate will:

• Be Passionate, Positive & Productive

• Be Respectful, Helpful & Caring

• Be Responsible & Reliable

• Be Solution-Focused
