About the Role

 

The Fish Processor supports the fish processing facility by receiving, filleting, packaging, and preparing fish in full compliance with BC Fish & Seafood Licensing Regulations and CFIA food safety standards. The role also involves guest service, maintaining facility cleanliness, and performing administrative tasks such as tracking fish and completing cash-outs. 

 

Key Responsibilities

·        Receive, weigh, record, fillet, vacuum-pack, label, and freeze fish according to regulations.

·        Ensure fish meets DFO species, size, and quantity limits before acceptance.

·        Maintain facility cleanliness, sanitation logs, refrigeration logs, and equipment cleaning.

·        Assist guides with transporting fish and monitor VHF radio for coordination.

·        Follow CFIA food handling standards and maintain strong safety awareness.

·        Handle guest interactions with forms, questions, payments, documentation, and product pickup or shipping prep.

·        Maintain accurate guest information, fish tracking, arrivals and departures, and complete daily cash-outs.

·        Communicate supply and maintenance needs to the Fish Processing Supervisor.

·        Dispose of offal properly and maintain a clean, organized facility.

Qualifications


Required

·        Legally entitled to work in Canada

·        Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

·        PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card)

·        Food Safe Level 1 or Process Safe

·        Experience cleaning and processing fish

·        Strong organizational and administrative skills

·        WHMIS certification


Preferred

·        ROC (Restricted Operator’s Certificate)

·        OFA1 (Occupational First Aid Level 1)
