The PEIBC Taproom & Events team has established themselves as industry leaders in full-service catering on PEI, growing business from producing special events at the PEI Brewing Company, and various offsite locations. Their team offers their clients catering and event management for events from intimate to extravagant. The Taproom & Events team makes a habit of exceeding client expectations, and consistently raising the bar in the world of special event production. They have knowledgeable and skilled team members, and a creative and imaginable approach to executing every unique event. The team will take care of every detail, whether the event is for 20 people or over 500.
As Assistant General Manager, You Will
- Work in collaboration with the Taproom & Events Manager to oversee the execution of events, assist in the management of the overall operation of PEIBC Taproom & Events services including client and partner relationship management, inventory, and the day-to-day coordination of event execution
- Act as lead when meeting with potential clients of the PEIBC and Offsite Catering locations. Conduct site tours, communicate, and establish event needs through client meetings, successfully book and ensure event deposits and contracts are received and conduct client menu tastings
- Relationships are of utmost importance. Must establish strong relationships with clients, management, administration, and event staff based on clear, concise communication and guest service
- Ensure client quotes are built around event plans and PEIBC Taproom & Events package
- Oversee the accurate set up and tear down of event space
- Oversee the smooth execution and roll out of client events, managing team members in various positions such as set-up, serving, bar, and kitchen ensuring clients receive only the best in guest service
- Maintain stock levels for events and functions including beverage / alcohol orders, supplies and equipment orders, ensuring all is delivered and received in a timely manner
- Balance event cash reports and deposits
- Assist Taproom & Events Manager in the overseeing of the corporate area of Cavendish Beach Music Festival for all food and beverage needs and site set up
- Other duties are required
Who You Are
- Must have impeccable organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills
- Leadership skills with a sense of self motivation and initiative
- A love for working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to balance multiple assignments and tasks at the same time
- Flexible, and able to think quickly and maintain a positive attitude and work ethic under pressure
- Ability to excel with a flexible working schedule, weekends & evenings as required
- Ability to build a strong relationship with clients, team members, managers, and industry partners
What You Bring
- Hospitality experience will be considered an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to excel with a flexible working schedule, weekends & evenings as required
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs
