Child Care Centre Supervisor (Maternity Leave Cover)
Step into a leadership role with a purpose! BGC Central Vancouver Island is seeking a dedicated, organized, and inspiring leader to oversee one of our Early Years programs in Nanaimo. This is a Maternity Leave position with an anticipated start date in early June 2026, expected to continue through August 2027, with the possibility of extension.

Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week), Monday – Friday.
Location: Nanaimo, BC.

Team Leadership: Mentor and support program staff through onboarding, supervision, and performance management. You’ll lead staff meetings and foster a positive, collaborative culture.
Program Excellence: Ensure all programs meet VIHA Licensing requirements and align with the BC Early Learning Framework.
Family Connection: Build effective relationships with parents and caregivers, involving them in decision-making and creating care plans that meet each child’s unique needs.
Operational Management: Oversee enrollment targets, financial reporting, and facility maintenance in collaboration with our administrative teams.
Culture of Care: Maintain a trauma-informed, person-centered environment that removes barriers to participation for all families.
Education: ECE Diploma and valid BC Early Childhood Registry Certificate.
Licensing: Ability to be approved as a Licensed Manager by CCFL within 30 days of hire.
Experience: 2+ years in a Licensed Child Care Facility with proven experience supervising a team.
Skills: Strong multitasking and scheduling abilities; proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel); and the ability to function independently under pressure.
Certifications: Valid First Aid/CPR (CCFL approved) and a clear Criminal Record Check.
