Quality Control Technician
Dawson Construction is looking for Quality Control Technician who will ensure that all quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications.
In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a seasonal, full-time position of Quality Control Technician, reporting to the Manager of Quality. This position is a critical part of the Dawson Construction Quality Control Team and plays an intriguing part in our Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will effectively work with customers, both internal and external, to provide a valued service as an industry expert in quality services. Your base location will be Kamloops, BC and will require travel throughout our great province.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Maintain all project Quality Control documentation in alignment with Dawson’s Quality Management System (QMS)
- Implement and support project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs)
- Track testing frequencies and ensure all required documentation is received and properly filed
- Review test reports for completeness, accuracy of formatting, and compliance with specification requirements (no technical sign-off)
- Compile and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports
- Maintain and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and related documentation
- Prepare lot summaries, material documentation, and complete quality turnover packages
- Coordinate internal and external quality submissions to Project Managers, Consultants, and Ministry representatives
- Maintain calibration records, certifications, and compliance tracking logs
- Ensure all quality files are organized, complete, and audit-ready (digital and hard copy)
- Support audit preparation and Ministry reviews
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality team
WHAT YOU BRING
- Strong administrative and document control experience
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently in a structured environment
- Experience in civil construction or quality management systems is considered an asset
- Class 5 Driver’s License
