Campground Manager- Bow Valley Provincial Park
Job Description
The Campground Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the campgrounds, ensuring a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment for guests.
This role combines the hands-on duties of a Campground Attendant with the managerial responsibilities of leading a team, maintaining facilities, and managing guest services.
The candidate will be a strong leader with excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of handling both the operational and guest service aspects of the Campground. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and has a passion for outdoor recreation and hospitality.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the campground, ensuring all facilities are clean, well-maintained, and functioning properly.
Perform hands-on duties, including cleaning campsites, maintaining vault toilets and comfort stations, selling firewood, and assisting guests.
Ensure that all campground rules and regulations are followed by performing regular security walks and addressing any issues promptly.
Staff Supervision and Training:
Train, and supervise campground staff, including Campground Attendants and other seasonal employees.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to staff, ensuring efficient and effective operation of the campground.
Provide ongoing training and support to staff, ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties to a high standard.
Customer Service and Satisfaction:
Greet and assist guests, providing information about campground facilities, rules, and local attractions.
Handle guest complaints and issues with professionalism, working to resolve them quickly and to the satisfaction of all parties.
Ensure a high level of customer service is maintained at all times, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Maintenance and Safety:
Oversee the maintenance of all campground facilities, including campsites, comfort stations, day-use areas, and garbage bins.
Identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff.
Security and Rule Enforcement:
Perform regular security walks throughout the campground to ensure that rules are being followed.
Address any issues related to noise, campfires and other campground regulations.
Report any serious violations or safety concerns to management or appropriate authorities.
Key Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Excel and Word.
Supervisory experience considered an asset
Current First Aid Level 1
Criminal Record Check (required prior to hiring, cost will be reimbursed, employment contingent on clear record)
Flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required by the campground’s operational needs. A routine schedule will be provided for successful applicants.
