Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Food and Beverage Service Manager is a year-round position with a job-protected leave from Nov 30 to Jan 31 each year.   In the should seasons this position is based out of our Head Office in Courtenay.  During Operating season from May to September, the position will be based out of Moutcha Bay Resort.

 

The Food and Beverage Service Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of food and beverage operations and culinary programs at all company establishments.  Leading and working at a remote fishing lodge requires a high level of flexibility, communication, commitment, and the expectation that no day will be the same.

Requirements of a Food and Beverage Service Manager:

 

·         Minimum 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a remote resort setting.

·         Exceptional culinary knowledge with a focus on high-quality, seasonal, and sustainable sourcing. 

·         Demonstrated ability to manage operational budgets, control costs, and provide accurate and timely financial reporting.

·         Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate to provide flawless, upscale guests experiences with staff in multiple locations.

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong organization, time management, planning, and problem-solving skills.

·         Willingness to jump in and help whenever and wherever needed.

·         Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft, Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.

·         Serving it Right certification.

·         Food Safe Level 1.

·         WHMIS certification.

 

Duties of a Food and Beverage Service Manager:

·          

·         Plan and execute the daily operations of all company food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, events, and room service.

·         Develop and implement service standards to deliver outstanding guest satisfaction in the pursuit of flawless, upscale guest service experiences. 

·         Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create menu offerings and design that reflect local flavors and cater to the preferences of our diverse clientele.

·         Manage budgets and inventories to control cost, minimize waste, and maximize profitability.

·         Act as a guest service leader, addressing guest requests, concerns, and feedback in a professional, helpful, and empathetic manner.

·         Collaboration with Resort Managers and HR in the hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching of all front-of house employees to optimize workflow.

·         Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue through promotions, events, and partnerships in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Manager.  

·         Assist with all front-of-house service during peak periods including bartending, serving, bussing, and hosting.
