Campground Manager (Host)
Job Description
The Campground Manager (Host) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the campground while residing on-site (Must have own RV). This position combines the responsibilities of a customer service agent and maintenance person; ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests.
As the primary point of contact for campers, the Campground Manager provides exceptional customer service, manages facilities, and enforces campground policies to maintain a positive experience for all visitors. In addition to day-to-day operations, the Camp Host plays a pivotal role in fostering a community atmosphere, addressing guest needs, and ensuring the overall success of the campground.
The ideal candidate is resourceful, personable, and well-versed in handling a variety of operational tasks while maintaining excellent guest relations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management
• Oversee the daily operations of the campground, ensuring all facilities, including campsites, comfort stations, and day-use areas, are clean, well-maintained, and functioning properly.
• Conduct regular inspections of the campground to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
Guest Services and Satisfaction
• Serve as the primary point of contact for campers, greeting guests upon arrival, assisting with check-ins, collection of campground fees and providing information about campground facilities and local attractions.
• Handle guest complaints and issues with professionalism, working to resolve them quickly and effectively.
• Ensure a high level of customer service is maintained at all times, fostering a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Security and Rule Enforcement
• Perform regular security walks throughout the campground to ensure that all rules and regulations are being followed.
• Address any issues related to noise, campfires, and other campground regulations promptly and effectively.
• Act as the first responder in case of emergencies, coordinating with local authorities as needed.
Maintenance and Facility Upkeep
• Perform hands-on duties such as cleaning campsites, maintaining vault toilets and comfort stations, selling firewood, and assisting guests with their needs.
• Empty and maintain garbage bins throughout the campground, ensuring proper waste disposal and recycling practices.
• Coordinate with management for major repairs or maintenance projects as needed.
Community and Public Relations
• Foster positive relationships with guests and local authorities.
Living On-Site
• Reside on-site in a designated campground campsite with their own RV, providing 24/7 availability for guest assistance and emergencies.
• Ensure that personal living quarters are well-maintained and set a positive example for guests in terms of campsite cleanliness and adherence to campground rules.
Key Qualifications and Competencies
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred or currently enrolled).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license
• First Aid Level 1
• Criminal Record Check (required prior to hiring, cost will be reimbursed, employment contingent on clear record)
• Ability to work independently and lead by example
• Ability to operate small equipment, while adhering to company’s safety policies and procedures
Working Conditions
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required by the campground’s operational needs. A schedule will be provided for successful applicants which will include days off shift.
