About the Role
As Bartender at the Conuma Grill, you will create welcoming and memorable guest experiences through professional, attentive beverage service. You will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintain a clean and well-stocked bar, process guest transactions, and support the wider food and beverage team during busy service periods. This live-on-site seasonal role is ideal for a hospitality professional who combines beverage knowledge, responsible service, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced remote resort environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately, efficiently, and responsibly while meeting established recipes and presentation standards.
- Set up, stock, clean, and organize the bar before, during, and after service to maintain a safe, sanitary, and service-ready environment.
- Monitor beverage inventory, rotate products, minimize waste, and promptly communicate restocking needs to management.
- Create positive guest interactions by providing friendly, knowledgeable service and anticipating guest needs.
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate beverage service and support dining room operations during peak periods.
- Operate the Point of Sale system, process cash and electronic payments, and maintain accurate transaction and sales records.
- Share guest feedback and report inventory, maintenance, or operational concerns to the Food & Beverage team promptly.
- Verify identification, monitor consumption, and refuse service when required in accordance with provincial liquor laws and company policy.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, WHMIS, and occupational health and safety procedures at all times.
- Contribute to a respectful, professional, and solution-focused team environment while supporting changing resort operational needs.
Qualifications
- Valid Serving It Right certification for British Columbia.
- Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, resort, hotel, or other hospitality environment.
- Working knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, and responsible alcohol service.
- Experience using a POS system and handling cash and electronic payments accurately.
- Excellent guest service, interpersonal communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs), remain standing for extended periods, and perform frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts throughout the resort operating season.
- Remote lodge or seasonal resort experience.
- Knowledge of BC wines or local craft beverages are considered assets.
