Accounting Manager

As a Manager, you are responsible for overseeing multiple client engagements, managing teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely services. You act as a key liaison between clients and the firm, contribute to strategic planning and process improvement, and support business development efforts. This role also plays a critical part in mentoring team members, fostering a collaborative team environment, and strengthening long-term client relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and review audit, tax, and advisory engagements, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with standards, and effective risk management.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships through proactive communication and identifying opportunities to add value.
- Lead and support the growth of Senior Accountants and CPA students, providing coaching and technical guidance.
- Lead internal training sessions and contribute to performance management and team development initiatives.
- Provide guidance on complex accounting, tax, and assurance matters, staying up to date with evolving standards and reviewing high-risk files before Partner sign-off.
- Support budgeting and resource planning while contributing to firm-wide initiatives such as process improvements, technology integration, and business development.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations.
- Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- CPA designation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, tax, or audit.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and QuickBooks Online.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and IFRS.
- Strong understanding of business, accounting, and management principles.
- Experience leading teams, coaching junior staff, and managing client relationships.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients professionally.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
