We are looking for a part-time Case Management Worker who provides enhanced settlement integration services to immigrants and refugees using trauma-informed approaches. Provides Needs and Assets Assessment and Referral Services (NAARS) to clients using a Case Management Eligibility Assessment to clients. For multi-barriered clients, the Case Management Worker will deliver personalized and targeted support to address client needs, strengthen personal capacity, and foster independence. Provides one-on-one support to individuals or family units. Provides client navigation and workshops or individualized sessions on adapting to life in Canada supports for high needs clients. Assists and may accompany clients in accessing other community-based resources. The focus of position may be on particular client demographics, e.g. youth or seniors, women, and LGBTQ2+ populations. Engages in enhanced settlement outreach to various areas within the Capital Regional District. Serves all individuals, including BIPOC, LGBTQ2+ and Indigenous. Reports to the Immigrant Settlement Services/Case Management Coordinator.
What you will bring to the role:
Minimum Grade 12 Diploma (Undergraduate Degree preferred) in related discipline on settlement/resettlement-related themes, case management, family law, immigration and refugee studies, social work, intercultural studies, child and youth care or combination of education, training, and experience.
· Direct experience with settlement/resettlement service delivery and case management.
· Experience with cross-cultural conflict resolution and trauma informed practice principles.
· Keen understanding of diversity issues to work with persons from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds on settlement/resettlement-related issues.
· Three years’ work experience within social services, not-for-profit and/or multicultural environment.
· Knowledge of community resources.
· Experience working with immigrants and refugees and understanding immigration issues.
· Proficiency in a settlement/resettlement language preferred (Arabic, Amharic, Tigrinya, Farsi, Somalian, Spanish or Dari).
· A passion for helping others and a positive mindset.
· Some ability to travel to community locations within Greater Victoria will be required for the accompaniment of clients. Occasional travel to locations in other parts of British Columbia and/or Canada for purposes like professional development, networking, or conferences may also be required.
· Some work outside of regular office hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required. Flex time schedules will be made to accommodate non-regular work hours.
· This position requires proof of WHMIS training, and clear criminal record check (including vulnerable populations check).
· Proven ability to effectively navigate and utilize IT systems, software, and hardware to streamline workflows, troubleshoot issues, and enhance productivity, backed by demonstrated experience or training.
· Strong technical proficiency in leveraging workplace technology to improve efficiency, collaborate with teams, and adapt to emerging tools and methodologies to serve clients effectively and on time.
· Essential skills:
o Internet research and navigation.
o Demonstrable use of MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and any other productivity software that supports the automation of processes and workflows.
o Basic graphic design (create posters and social media posts).
o Social media management (understanding of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter)
o Basic project management and team communication tools (Google Drive, MS Teams, One Drive, Zoom).
o Proficient with MS Office and database management (iCare, CRM, OCMS, CARMIS).
o Understanding of best practices of cybersecurity for data protection, phishing prevention, and secure system use.
o Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence technology, cloud computing and cybersecurity (ChatGPT).
o Problem solving techniques.

· A valid BC driver’s license and access to a car would be an asset.

Compensation and hours: This position starts at $27.61 per hour, in Grid Level 3 Step 1 (collective agreement wage as of April 1, 2025) working 17.5 hours per week and requires union membership.
Contract period: until March 31, 2027
