Volunteer Opportunity - Volunteer Lead
MNLC is a community based organization supporting newcomers, refugees, and vulnerable communities through settlement services, language training, employment support, and community integration.
Role Overview
The Volunteer Lead supports the overall strength and direction of MNLC’s volunteer program. This role focuses on leadership, guidance, and volunteer engagement, helping ensure volunteers feel supported, aligned, and motivated while contributing meaningfully to MNLC’s work.
This role is best suited to an experienced volunteer with strong people skills and a background in nonprofit or community-based environments. Retired Professionals are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and guidance to MNLC volunteers
• Support the development and improvement of volunteer structures and processes
• Act as a point of support for volunteer concerns or challenges
• Mentor and support Volunteer Coordinators as needed
• Collaborate with staff to plan volunteer needs across programs
• Help foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable volunteer culture
Requirements
• Previous experience leading or supporting volunteers in a nonprofit or
community setting
• Ability to provide guidance and feedback with professionalism and empathy
• Understanding of newcomer serving or community based work is an asset
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
