Structural Truss Systems specializes in the design, manufacturing, and transportation of custom roof trusses, floor systems, and wall panels for every size of residential, commercial, and agricultural projects. Our manufacturing facilities are located in Fort MacLeod, AB, just 25 minutes west of Lethbridge, AB.
We are currently looking to hire the following position in our Structural Truss Systems Wall Shop facility.
Role: Sawyer – Wall Shop
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
As a Sawyer in our Wall Shop, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our Hornet Saw. Your role includes feeding lumber into the Hornet Saw with precision, ensuring all cuts meet quality standards, and consistently maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

- Identify and report equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Lead Hand.

- Stay proactive and resourceful to ensure the job is completed efficiently.
Do the Right Thing
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and hazards.
- Will always properly use all the required PPE (hi-vis vest, safety glasses, earplugs, CSA-approved work boots, etc.).
Take ownership of your work, ensuring the quality of every piece of lumber that is cut.
Key Requirements of the Job:
- 6-12 Months of previous experience using industrial saws like the Hornet Saw.
- Stand, walk, bend, and stretch for 8–10-hour shifts in a manufacturing environment.
- Lift, push, and pull 50-75 lbs repeatedly.
- Stay alert and focused while operating machinery.
- Must be able to use all required PPE.
- Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
Use hands for grasping, handling, and precision work.
