Opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for the role of Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our Safe Haven team. The Early Childhood Educator Assistant will be supporting our morning and afternoon classes, responsible in assisting senior staff with child-minding for our Safe Haven English, Counselling, Settlement and Employment programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior staff in monitoring children in indoor and outdoor activities and during rest periods;
- Under supervision of senior staff, conduct activities with children such as telling stories, teaching songs and leading discussions;
- Assist with the planning, preparation and carrying out developmentally appropriate programs and activities;
- Be alert and responsive to needs at all times;
- Foster a caring, safe and positive learning environment;
- Ensure the safety and hygiene of all children;
- Immediately report any instances of child neglect and/or abuse to the supervisor.
Qualified Candidates will possess:
- Early Childhood Education Assistant/Responsible Adult Certificate, with a minimum of one years’ experience working with children aged 0 – 6 years in a childcare setting.
- •Previous current and relevant experience in a childcare setting.
- •Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of young children, and their parents/caregivers.
- •Cross-cultural experience and knowledge of settlement issues.
- •Standard first aid and CPR training required
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, oral and written
