Fund Development Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Fund Development Specialist is responsible for the implementation of the annual giving portfolio through the delivery of multi-channel fundraising campaigns. Additionally, the candidate will develop and implement strategies to identify, qualify, and cultivate new individual and monthly donors to increase annual giving revenue and build Easter Seals Alberta’s presence in the donor community.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Manage annual giving campaigns budget, monitoring and reporting on revenue and expenses.

·       Develop opportunities, build relationships, and execute annual giving strategies to increase individual donor engagement, loyalty, and generosity.

·       Research and identify prospective individual annual donors for cultivation and solicitation.

·       Renew and upgrade current annual individual donors through in-person solicitation and/or strategic proposals based on priority goals of the organization.

·       Steward relationships including regular communication and personalized recognition.

·       Work with the Director of Philanthropy to ensure the integration of monthly, tribute and planned giving opportunities within the annual donor journey.

·       Collaborate with the Development team to develop and implement multi-channel fundraising campaigns, from planning and concept development to ensuring all fundraisers are delivered on time and on budget.

·       Maintain a sustainable data management processes including campaign data management, and documentations of donor communication preferences and donor journey touchpoints.

·       Ensure all gift transactions are accurately processed and reported. Develop thank-you templates and other donor recognition materials for use by the wider team.


·       Provide tours of Easter Seals Camp Horizon as needed.

·       Other duties as assigned.

 

This is a full-time position that requires in-person work 3 days per week, including Wednesdays.

 

 


 

What you bring to Easter Seals Alberta:

·       The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary degree/diploma or an equivalent combination of experience and education in fundraising/not for profit.

·       Ideally a minimum of three years of progressive non-profit fundraising experience which includes direct responsibility for a portfolio of individual donors.

·       Self-motivated and results-oriented; positive and collaborative; excited to work in and contribute to a high-performing fundraising team.

·       Superior interpersonal and communication skills; a high degree of professionalism and the ability to confidently interact and build trust with individuals and stakeholders at all levels.

·       Strong understanding of varying motivations for donor giving across sources, styles, and financial instruments.

·       Excellent organization and prioritization skills with judgment of when to work independently and when to seek input from colleagues and manager.

·       Unwavering ability to maintain sensitivity and confidentiality in every interaction with donors and prospects.

·       Excellent analytical, presentation, and research skills.

·       Strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills and familiarity with Teams

·       Experience with Blackbaud donor database and an ability to commit to the organization’s standards for donor relationship management.
