Our Company

Keltic Quay is a small resort on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia with twelve cottages and a guest lodge.  It is situated on the Bras D'Or Lakes in the village of Whycocomagh.  The cottages and property are maintained to exceptional standards and provide great enjoyment to our guests.  The lodge is an ideal place for guests to enjoy a game of pool, shuffleboard, darts or other board games.  We are open year round.

Job Description - Housekeeping and Guest Services

We are looking for someone to help us with housekeeping and guest services at Keltic Quay Resort in Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia.  We have a beautiful location, a positive team environment and wonderful guests that we enjoy making happy.  We will provide on-site training and mentorship.  

Job responsibilities:

• The main responsibility is the housekeeping of the cottages.
• Providing warm, inviting, helpful and friendly customer service to our guests.
• Working in a safe manner and advising management of any safety hazards.  
• Housekeeping and servicing of the cottages and lodge could include removal of bedding and towels and replacing with fresh linens, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning surfaces, appliances, floors, windows, BBQ's and other areas, trash removal and replenishing guest supplies.
• Inspecting items, appliances and equipment to ensure they are in working order.  
• Laundry - using on-site washers and dryers to clean linens and folding and storing linens.

Hours:   Can be discussed in more detail at time of interview.  

Shifts:  Most shifts are day shifts, it does involve working weekends and holidays and some evenings.  

Phyiscal Demands:  This is a physically demanding job requiring standing, walking (up and down stairs as well), bending, reaching, lifting, crouching and/or kneeling.  Must be able to lift 20 lbs.  

Qualifications:  Previous cleaning experience would be an asset.  We can also provide training.  

We are seeking a reliable individual who is flexible to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays and occasional evenings.
