Content Strategist

Ce rôle est en télétravail Temps partiel

Role Summary

The Content Strategist supports the development and execution of branded content and audience-focused marketing programs across Village Media’s network. This role combines writing, editing, content strategy, social media marketing, audience development, and campaign execution.

The successful candidate understands how to create content that serves both the reader and the advertiser while maintaining strong editorial standards. You will translate business objectives into high-performing content strategies, support campaign distribution, analyze performance metrics, and leverage AI tools responsibly to optimize workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Strategy

  • Write, edit, and optimize branded, sponsored, and audience-focused content for Village Media properties.

  • Develop content strategies, story concepts, headlines, and angles tailored to advertiser objectives and target audiences.

  • Review client-provided and internal content for quality, accuracy, readability, tone, and strategic alignment.

  • Provide clear content briefs and direction to writers, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Campaign Execution & Optimization

  • Manage and optimize Facebook boosting and paid social distribution for branded content campaigns.

  • Identify target audiences and strategic distribution approaches for paid campaigns.

  • Monitor campaign performance data to refine future content, headlines, targeting, and distribution strategies.

  • Work closely with sales teams to translate client needs into effective digital programs.

  • Support audience-building and retargeting initiatives to attract qualified reader segments.

AI Integration & Workflow Efficiency

  • Responsibly use generative AI tools to assist with research, ideation, drafting, editing, summarization, and workflow automation.

  • Rigorously review, fact-check, and edit AI-assisted output to guarantee editorial quality, accuracy, and tone.

  • Help improve Content Studio processes, templates, and best practices.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who combines the instincts of an editor with the mindset of a digital marketer.

They understand what makes people click, but also understand that earning the click is only the beginning. They can recognize a strong story angle, improve a weak headline, edit copy without stripping away its voice and understand how an individual piece of content supports a larger marketing or audience strategy.

The ideal candidate is comfortable making decisions independently, managing multiple projects and gradually taking ownership of programs rather than waiting for individual assignments.

Candidates could come from journalism, digital media, an advertising or marketing agency, social media, branded content or content marketing.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

  • Proven track record in professional writing, editing, and digital content creation (backgrounds in journalism, agency, digital media, or content marketing are ideal).

Social & Analytics

  • Direct experience with Meta/Facebook platforms (including paid/boosted posts) and the ability to turn analytics into actionable insights.

Editorial Judgment

  • Sharp eye for detail, strong headline writing skills, and the ability to balance commercial goals with reader value.

AI Literacy

  • Hands-on experience using generative AI tools, paired with the critical thinking required to evaluate, fact-check, and refine AI outputs.

Project Management

  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects and workflows independently.
