PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This is an Excluded position providing support to the Human Resources department 4 days per week. 

As the Administrative Associate for Human Resources you will perform a variety of tasks such as minute taking, maintaining and updating various reports as well as maintaining confidential HR and employee files. You will also be responsible for supporting Occupational Health and Safety with active committee participation and assessments.  This position will also provide support with the Recruitment and Selection processes for the Human Resources Department.  In addition to these duties, you will support the Human Resources Manager with maintaining confidential files, coordinating and attending Labour Management Committee meetings as well as preparing documents for arbitration. 

These functions and all other duties should be performed in a courteous, professional manner. The incumbent will be task orientated and demonstrate effective teamwork skills, initiative, high level organizational abilities and great interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will communicate in accordance with the Agency’s values.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • A diploma in an administrative program.
  • Five years of experience in providing administrative support in a similar environment; and ability to draft professional correspondence.
  • Proficiency in using Windows based computer applications including spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (Word), and other standard computer applications.
  • Advanced proficiency with Zoom/Teams and Outlook including setting up virtual meetings.
  • Various Occupational Health and Safety courses will be needed for this position and will be required and made available to the successful candidate.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm.
  • Efficient minute taking and turnaround time is essential.
  • Knowledge of and an ability to maintain filing systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Criminal Record Check for Working with Vulnerable Children or Adults.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
