In Langley BC, CKF/Packright produces RPet, pulp & foam food service & food packaging products. We are best known for our Royal Chinet tableware. CKF Inc./Packright is a National Company with plants located in British Columbia, Ontario, Iowa, Texas, and Nova Scotia, manufacturing numerous types of food and product packaging.

Our Packright facility in Langley, British Columbia is looking to hire Industrial Mechanics (Millwrights) to join our maintenance team.  Reporting to the Maintenance manager, the incumbent is responsible for the installation, removal, repair, and preventive maintenance of rotating equipment within the manufacturing floor.

 Job Responsibilities:

 Â·        Maintenance of tools to ensure they remain “fit for use†as and when required.

·         Execute the changeover process where setups take no more than six (6) hours. Setup is complete once the sheet is running through the former being “dialed-inâ€.

·         Immediate response to machine/equipment failure, tooling failure or any unusual interruption to the production flow.

·         Ensures documentation is maintained on tooling, equipment and maintenance.

  • Schedule, perform, train and oversee daily maintenance and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the Production Supervisor for support (manpower assistance) in performance of change over activities.  The goal is for the tooling and maintenance tech to oversee, educate and validate the subordinate staff.
  • Lead in the development, piloting and prototyping of new tools and processes.
  • Oversee staff that are “lent†to the maintenance department for change over and maintenance activities.  This includes training and safe work practices.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting in case of production issues as they arise.
  • Understand and operate basic robot cells as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic problems that arise during production.
  • Follow and adhere to all policies regarding safety.
  • Maintain company required dress and decorum.
  • Adhere to policies established by the company and communicated through posting or Employee Manual.
  • Report any and all unsafe conditions.
  • Foster & promote company’s core values.

Qualifications:

Valid Millwright certificate of qualification

  • Completion of certified trades school program preferred
  • Five years recent and related journeyperson experience in a corrective and preventive maintenance environment
  • Experience with predictive maintenance would be an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and equipment specifications
  • Proficiency in the use of the tools of the trade
  • Must be flexible for shift rotation. Currently 8 hours shifts in a 24/5 manufacturing operation. Must have the ability to work overtime when required
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize repair jobs
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Computer literacy would be an asset
  • Ability to take direction
  • Ability to direct apprentices in a leadership capacity would be an asset
  • General safety, Confined Space, Fall Protection and WHMIS training would be an asset

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift (rotating)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability

 Salary: $45.48 per hour
