Title: Entry Level Facility Cleaner

Reports to: Supervisor of Facility Services, YMCA of Pictou County Position Status: Part-time to start

Salary: hourly - $17.00/hr

Position Summary

We are looking for a friendly, outgoing individual that has sound judgment, discretion, attention to detail, cleaning experience and general cleaning abilities to join our facility staff team. The Facility Cleaner is a physically demanding position. This position is required to do a great deal of stretching and bending, often in awkward position. It includes standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects, sweeping floors and mopping floors. This position will have a variety of working hours that will fall outside of a traditional work week.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standards cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment

• Knowledge of WHIMS, Health and Safety and First Aid

• Ability to take initiative, multi-task and remain result-focused

• Detailed orientated

• Excellent team skills and self-motivated

• Good customer service

• Quality focused position

• Complete tasks in a timely manner

• Travel between locations is required. Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with organizational policy.

Note: Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and proof of valid First Aid and CPR training. Employees will be required to attend YMCA Child Protection Training.
