Facility Attendant (Maintenance & Cleaning)

The YMCA of Saskatoon invites applications for the position of Facility Attendant at the Downtown location. This role is essential to the effective operation of the facility and contributes directly to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that supports the well-being of members, guests, and staff. This is a permanent part-time position working Saturdays and Sundays. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong-attention to detail, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team-oriented operational environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Facility Cleaning and Sanitation

• Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of locker rooms, washrooms, fitness areas, corridors, and shared spaces in accordance with YMCA standards and protocols.
• Ensure all assigned areas are consistently maintained in a clean, orderly, and professional condition.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to spills, incidents, and urgent cleaning requirements.

Maintenance Support

• Carry out routine minor maintenance tasks, including replacement of light bulbs and replenishment of supplies.
• Identify, document, and report maintenance or repair requirements to support preventative and corrective action.

Operational Compliance and Support

• Adhere strictly to all YMCA health, safety, sanitation, and risk management policies and procedures.
• Provide operational support to the facility team as required to ensure continuity of services.
• Maintain professional, respectful, and effective communication with supervisors, colleagues, and members at all times.

Qualifications and Employment Requirements

• Previous experience in custodial services, cleaning, or facility maintenance is considered an asset.
• Availability to work Saturdays and Sundays up to 8 hrs.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing assigned duties efficiently.
• Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.
• This position involves cleaning women’s locker rooms; therefore, for reasons of privacy the successful candidate must be female.
