Land Contracts Analyst - Fixed term
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-driven intermediate level Land Contracts Analyst to support our land and joint interest operations working 3 days a week on a 6-month fixed term basis. This role is responsible on a project-by-project basis, to review joint interest agreements, improve contract data integrity in CS Land, manage incoming obligations, and support AFE governance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of land contracts, exceptional analytical skills, and advanced experience with CS Land.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review joint interest agreements and ensure accurate and complete data entry in CS Land.
· Analyze AFEs to determine working interest and identify governing agreements. Classify AFEs appropriately (e.g., ION – Information Only Notice, or other categories).
· Track and manage incoming and outgoing contract obligations, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
· Draft standard land joint interest agreements and related documentation and update standard Landform letters and agreement precedents.
· Act as an expert-level user of IFS CS Land, supporting data integrity and system optimization.
· Resolve Land billing disputes via EnergyLink, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
· Participate in process and data management improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and reporting across land and contract systems.
· Ensure data integrity in CS Land system by updating joint interest and other land contract information, ensuring ownership is accurate and linked to related mineral and surface title documents.
· Assist with A&D activities as needed and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Law, or a related field.
· Advanced knowledge of CS Land is required.
· Advanced understanding of contract administration with a comprehensive knowledge of oil and gas operations within the oil and gas industry.
· Advanced knowledge in all aspects of mineral lease administration and Alberta Crown P&NG Tenure Regulations.
· Strong team player with a proactive, collaborative mindset.
· Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
· Minimum 10 years of Industry Land experience
· Strong software skills with experience in Geoscout, Abadata, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills to coordinate multiple priorities with strong initiative and follow-through.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
