Reports to: Dietary Manager/Food Service Director
Job Description:
The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with food preparation and serving meals to residents of the Skilled Nursing Facility. The dietary aide will work with the dietary team to ensure that the nutritional needs of residents are met, and to provide an enjoyable dining experience for all.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with meal preparation, including cooking, baking, and chopping vegetables
Set up and clean dining areas and tables for meal times
Assist with the delivery and serving of meals to residents
Follow food safety guidelines and ensure that all food served meets dietary restrictions and preferences of residents
Clean kitchen equipment, counters, and floors to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Assist with inventory and stocking of food and supplies
Handle resident inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
Adhere to all policies and procedures related to food service and safety
Attend training sessions and meetings as required
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Previous experience in food service preferred, but not required
Must have strong communication and customer service skills
Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Working Conditions:
The Dietary Aide will work in a skilled nursing facility kitchen, which may be hot and noisy. The job requires standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds. The dietary aide will work with kitchen equipment and tools, including knives and food processors, which require proper safety precautions. The job may require working weekends and holidays.
