Field Operator (Contract)– Overview
Location: Rocky Mountain House, AB area in the Central field.

Reporting to the Production Foreman, you will be responsible for day-to-day production, operating activities, and field maintenance for combinations of sweet/sour oil and gas wells, battery and gas compression facilities. You will represent Canlin Energy and ensure other contractors conduct their operational activities in compliance with Canlin standards, programs, and government regulations.
You will support the Production Foreman and liaise with departments including health and safety, MRA, IROC, auditors, drilling, completions, lease construction, facilities construction, environmental, land and other stakeholders such as regulators, producers, processors, and landowners.
This position has a shift rotation of 10-hour workdays, with 8 on and 6 off.
The Role
- Assist the Operations Coordinator and Production Foreman in managing the day-to-day operations of the facilities
- Support safe operations by participating in Audits, Inspections and associated Corrective Actions
- Ensure equipment, facilities and wells are maintained by completing minor maintenance, pigging or by initiating repairs using an electronic Maintenance Management system
- Issue Safe Work Permits and prepare equipment for maintenance in compliance with all Canlin’s rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily equipment logs, records, production readings and all electronic reporting formats
- Support a culture of accountability by demonstrating and upholding all Canlin’s Core Values, Rules, Guidelines, Policies and Procedures

The Person
- 2 - 5 years of experience as a Field Operator
- High school diploma
- Post-secondary education is considered an asset
- Refridge Plant experience
- Oplynx experience an asset
- Certification in H2S alive, First Aid, WHIMIS, TDG
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Excellent understanding of upstream operations, equipment, and terminology
- Proven ability to lead others and high safety standards
- Ability to shift priorities and focus to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
- Live within 30min of Rocky Mountain House

Alcohol and Drug Screening
As a condition of employment, successful candidate will be required to undergo alcohol and drug screening as part of the hiring process. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of this screening.
Driver's Abstract – 3 Year
A valid driver’s license and a clean driver's abstract from the past 3 years are required for this position. A driver’s abstract will either be requested directly from the candidate or a signed Driver Abstract Consent form will be required, allowing the company to request a Driver’s Abstract on your behalf. The abstract will be reviewed prior to employment.
