Job Overview:

The Marketing & Events Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing casino events and promotions across all three ACE Casino properties. This role ensures all events are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with brand standards, while supporting guest engagement and revenue objectives. The Specialist will collaborate closely with the Marketing team, Graphic Designer, and senior management to ensure seamless delivery of initiatives.


Responsibilities and Duties:

Event Planning & Execution

Lead the development and execution of detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets for casino promotions, entertainment, and special events, accommodating anywhere from 30 to 1,000 ACE customers.
Coordinate all event logistics, including booking entertainment, securing vendors, arranging décor, and collaborating with Food & Beverage and Gaming teams.
Ensure all internal stakeholders (slots, table games, F&B, hosts, security, facilities) are aligned and resourced for event execution.
Track KPIs and provide post-event reporting with recommendations for improvement.
Maintain a rolling 12-month event calendar, ensuring at least 2–3 months of lead time on major events.


Marketing & Creative Support

Work collaboratively with the Graphic Designer on promotional materials (print, digital, on-site displays, social media).
Provide light design/editing support when required to help meet deadlines.
Draft marketing copy for event campaigns, including email, social, and in-casino signage.
Collaborate with Marketing Management to ensure campaigns and promotions are consistent across all properties.


Communication & Collaboration

Act as the point of contact for event-related and marketing communication across departments.
Provide clear event briefs and updates to internal stakeholders.
Partner with the Winner’s Edge loyalty program team to integrate offers and rewards into promotions.
Build strong relationships with entertainment providers, community partners, and suppliers.

Administration & Compliance

Prepare event budgets, track costs, and reconcile expenses.
Ensure AGLC guidelines are followed in all promotional materials and event activations.
Secure necessary approvals for events and marketing initiatives.
Provide marketing administration support, including scheduling campaigns, maintaining databases, coordinating approvals, and assisting with reporting as needed.
Other duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Experience:

Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field.
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in event marketing, promotions, or communications, which includes delivery of multi-media short and long term marketing campaigns.
Casino and/or hospitality industry experience strongly preferred (casino background highly desired but not required).
Experience coordinating large-scale events, promotions, or guest engagement initiatives.
Experience engaging and managing relationships with vendors.
•       Experience in management of entertainment provider relationships is an asset.
Minimum two (2) years direct client engagement via acting as event host/MC.


  Skills and Abilities:

Exceptional execution of time management and organizational skills in multi-location highly collaborative environment.
Strong knowledge of digital and traditional marketing, including campaign planning, social media strategy and on-site promotions.
Ability to motivate and maintain a viable work force. 
Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication abilities. 
Ability to expertly manage multiple projects and deadlines. 
Adherence to a high degree of detail and accuracy, including strong writing and editing skills focussed on tone, clarity and compliance.
Knowledge of the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) Terms & Conditions and Operating Guidelines is considered an asset.


Job Requirements:

Proficient in content creation and copywriting for email, web, print and on-location signage/promotional materials.
Strong proficiency of graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Requires frequent travel between two (2) Calgary locations and Red Deer.
Available to work non-standard hours which may include day, evening, weekend and statutory holidays (based on business needs).
Unrestricted Driver’s License and Clean Driver’s Abstract
Clear Police Background (PIC) check.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Walk/stand – Must be able to walk/stand throughout much of the shift.
Talk/hear – must be able to detect, determine, identify, observe, inspect, and assess.  Must be able to exchange accurate information and professionalism in these situations.  
Occasional kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Occasional ascending or descending stairs, and ramps.  
Works in an indoor, fast-paced environment.
Advanced attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure.
