Campground Attendant – Bow Valley Provincial Park (Near Canmore, AB)
The Campground Attendant position is located at Bow Valley Provincial Park near Canmore, AB. The attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the campground and surrounding day-use areas, assisting guests, and supporting store operations.
This role involves a variety of tasks including cleaning campsites and facilities, maintaining day-use areas, working in the campground store, selling firewood and retail items, performing security walks, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, friendly, adaptable, and committed to providing a positive experience for all campground visitors.
Dates: Late April through Mid October (other flexible dates available)
Duties and Responsibilities
Campsite Cleaning and Maintenance-
Clean and maintain campsites after guest check-out, including picking up litter, raking sites, and ensuring fire pits are clean.

Inspect campsites for damage or safety issues and report concerns to the supervisor.

Clean and sanitize vault/pit toilets and comfort stations multiple times daily.

Restock supplies as needed.

Clean and maintain day-use facilities, picnic areas, shelters, and amphitheatres.

Empty garbage and recycling bins throughout campground and day-use areas.

Perform general groundskeeping and maintenance tasks, including minor repairs.

Assist with maintenance duties at nearby day-use areas as assigned.

Safely operate and maintain small equipment, including:

Push lawn mower

Lawn tractor
-
Weed trimmer
-
Blower
-
Basic maintenance of small equipment

Company vehicles
-

Assist with daily operations of the campground store.

Sell firewood, snacks, and retail items.
-
Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash transactions.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of store areas.

Provide friendly and efficient service to customers.

Provide friendly, helpful service to guests.

Answer questions about campground amenities and local attractions.

Educate guests on campground rules and wildlife attractant management.

Promote a safe and welcoming environment.

Perform regular security walks.

Address issues related to noise, campfires, and campground regulations.

Report serious violations or safety concerns to management or appropriate authorities.
Key Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred or currently enrolled).

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Current First Aid Level 1.

Criminal Record Check (required prior to hiring; cost reimbursed; employment contingent on clear record).
