Kindred Spirit Part Time Housing Support Worker - TERM
Job Type: Part-Time Term (Term ending September 2027)
Reports to: Kindred Spirit Manager

Responsibilities: Housing Support Workers are members of the Kindred Spirit team and work together to provide housing support for clients in a flexible, compassionate, and responsible manner.
Qualifications:
- Experience in human services, supported housing, or with persons with disabilities/addictions.
- Maintain professional boundaries in and out o the workplace as outlined in the YWCA Code of Conduct and Ethics Agreement.
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture.
- Must pass criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
- MUST HAVE: Class 5 Driver's License; Candidates without a Class 5 Driver's License need not apply.
- Reliable Transportation.
- Excellent Communication Skills (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently as well as a team.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Must be a positive role model of life and social skills of clientele.
Duties:
- Review communications board, emails, and logbooks, on-call schedule when coming on shift.
- Be available to respond to client needs and requests where reasonable in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Ensure property security alarms and cameras are on and functional.
- Assist Program Staff when requested, to ensure the safety of staff and residents.
- Responsible for maintaining clear and concise logs of all unusual occurrences or suspicious activities.
- Respond to accidents, contact EMS, or administer first aid/CPR as required.
- Be available for community members for mentorship and consultations.
- Assist community members, guests, and employees during emergency situations.
- Be aware of emergency procedures.
- Notify appropriate individuals (on-call staff, Supervisor, Manager) and/or Authorities in the event of critical incidents.
- Maintain written and computerized records, compile reports, and complete other program documents (including case notes, statistics, letters, etc.).
- Transport clients in accordance with established client transportation policies/protocols.
- Provide culturally sensitive outreach, case management, and other needed services to clients.
- Provide individually tailored services to each client, e.g.; housing placement, independent living skills, appointment escorts, home visits, and family counseling.
- Aid clients in their homes and in the community to allow them to participate safely and as independently as possible with dignity and respect.
- Assist with building cleanliness and safety.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures & work respectfully within a diverse environment.
- Hourly checks of client apartments and support the families’ needs according to their individual case plans.
- Meal preparation as required.
- Participate in/plan evening social and cultural events with clients.
- Participate in offered training.
- Must follow safety and security policies at all times.
- Maintain client confidentiality at all times.
- Debrief with shift rotation.
- All other duties & responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.
Probation: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three-month probation period.
