Pay grid: Professional ($20.90 to $29.45 per hour)
Reporting to: Office Manager
Summary of Duties:
The Snow Removal Technician reports to the Úll̓us Office Manager. The Snow Removal Technician is responsible for the de-icing and clearing of snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots. When the weather permits the Snow Removal Technician performs cleaning indoors and outdoors while ensuring minor maintenance duties in maintaining the Úll̓us Community Complex and surrounding grounds.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
- Keep the building and grounds clean and safe, seasonal routines to address issues from the weather (snow)
- Conduct a building and grounds inspection to determine areas needing attention or service
- Minor carpentry for repairs
- Assembles products when needed
- Repair minor damage to floors, walls, windows, and doors – interior and exterior
- Services and maintains all equipment in good working condition
- Organizes and maintains designated storage spaces, tools, and supplies in an orderly fashion
- Maintains an up-to-date inventory of tools and supplies
- Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures
Experience and Attributes:
- Completion of grade 10
- Building Service Worker 1 – 3 training an asset
- 1-year experience as a maintenance worker or snow removal technician
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Experience as a janitor is an asset
- Must be able to work during evenings and weekends
- Ability to use and maintain janitorial equipment
- Knowledge of other trades an asset
- Must have Carpentry skills and experience • Attention to detail and strong ability to take initiative
- Listening and communication skills – able to take direction well
