Your Role
The Pro Shop I (Junior) Attendant will be working at the Miskanaw Golf Club as a support to the overall day to day operations of the facility. Under the Supervision of the PGA of Alberta Head Professional, the Pro Shop I (Junior) Attendant will manage tee times, answering phones and provide customer service to all patrons as well as maintain an organized and clean pro shop.
Your Responsibilities
• Managing the tee time sheet/schedule: Answering the phone, entering names into the tee time database, checking in golf patrons and Point of Sales duties
• Maintaining Cleanliness: Picking up garbage, vacuuming the pro shop area and sanitizing the shelves and counters
• Handling Inventory and Acting as a Sales Representative: Doing basic inventory counts each month, assisting customers with inquiries about golf equipment and clothing and custom club fitting and ordering (in conjunction with golf professionals)
• Ensuring merchandise is priced and displays changes as per schedule
• Help Back Shop staff with maintaining the Driving Range/Golf Course: Picking up golf balls with the picker and retrieving empty baskets after golfers are finished,
cleaning the golf balls after picking, driving out to the golf holes to place the pins according to tournament charts
• Organizing and cleaning of golf carts in preparation for tournaments: Wiping down seats when they are dirty or wet, parking the carts in an organized fashion according to their numbers, general cleaning of cart area
• Opening/closing procedures as outlined in Pro Shop standards of service booklet
• Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education & Experience
• Completion of High School
• Must be 18 years of age or older
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Enthusiastic and outgoing personality
• Excellent customer service skills is an asset
Other Requirements
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Criminal record Check
Working Conditions
• This position requires a flexible schedule including statutory holidays, early morning, late night, and weekend work.
• This position may include heavy lifting of supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs. Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 25 lbs.
• Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings.
