Job Overview:

The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and waitlists, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring smooth communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams. The Host/Hostess maintains a professional and friendly presence while ensuring efficient table turnover and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced casino restaurant environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Ace Casinos                     
• Greet guests promptly upon arrival with a warm and friendly attitude
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating flow efficiently
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus
• Maintain accurate knowledge of table status, availability, and server sections
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless service
• Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns professionally
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand , restaurant and entrance area
• Monitor dining room activity to assist in service flow and guest satisfaction
• Assist in coordinating large group bookings and special events
• Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries regarding reservations and restaurant information
• Communicate proactively with servers, kitchen, and leadership to ensure smooth operations
• Always maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor
• Follow all health, safety, and casino policies and procedures
• Attend all scheduled meetings and contribute to continuous improvement

Education and Experience:
• Working Nights & Weekend shifts
• 1–3 years of experience in a hospitality or customer service environment
• Casino or high-volume restaurant experience preferred
• Valid AGLC Pro-Serve Certification and Lotto Learn

Skills and Abilities:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent guest service and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle high guest volumes
• Basic computer or POS system knowledge is an asset


Job Requirements:
Ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including graveyards, weekends, and holidays. The hours of work will be based on operational needs.
Exceptional customer service skills including proficiency in the English Language
Professional demeanor and ability to approach situations in a tactful manner.
Ability to work calmly under pressure and treat others with respect regardless of their status or position 
Proserve and Reel Facts Certification from AGLC.
Knowledge of AGLC Terms & Conditions and Operating Guidelines.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Walk/stand - Must be able to walk/stand throughout much of the shift throughout all outlets of the Casino.
Talk/hear - Must be able to detect, determine, identify, observe, inspect, and assess.  This positions frequently communicates with guests and employees throughout the entirety of the shift. Must be able to exchange accurate information and professionalism in these situations.  
Occasional kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.  
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Works in an indoor, fast-paced environment.
Advanced attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure.
