Industrial Electrician
The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for the safe execution of a wide variety of electrical installations, repairs and maintenance tasks and will take ownership of electrical infrastructure. An Industrial Electrician is a thorough professional who advocates for safety and quality, with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously, train industrial maintenance technicians and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines
This is a hardworking, hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves environment emphasizing a team-oriented and collaborative style. It will be key for the candidate to embrace change and see past obstacles with a focus on solutions in the context of a company undergoing rapid growth and ongoing functional integration.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshoot and maintain site utility, process, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Electrical installation and troubleshooting of equipment and utility systems.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of the plant systems and equipment to ensure operations continue in a safe, productive and efficient manner.
- Helps develop and improve standard operating practices and effective preventative maintenance plans for equipment and processes to ensure continued safe operation with reduced unplanned downtime.
- Be the site SME for Electrical utilities and equipment.
- Executes Work Orders within a CMMS system in a timely manner and completes all relevant documentation to close orders.
- Coordinates work with external contractors and ensure work is completed.
- Monitors and troubleshoot operating equipment.
- Ensures facility adheres to safety and environmental rules.
- Implements facility improvement projects for more efficient energy demand.
- Conducts area inspections and audits.
- Observes gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Replenishes inventory as needed.
- Performs facility maintenance which includes tools and equipment in good working order while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Monitor boilers, diesel generators, chillers and auxiliary equipment.
- Supports all areas of maintenance throughout the facility. Using a preventative, productive and reliable approach.
- Supporting the Maintenance Manager with special projects and tasks outside of regular responsibilities as required.
The Ideal Candidate has:
- Industrial Electrician Red Seal Certification
- Minimum 3-5 years of facility maintenance or trade association in electrical or related field
- Holds the necessary qualification and certifications to work as an electrician and provide electrical training to apprentices in PEI
- Sound knowledge of electrical codes and regulation
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a well-developed professional manner and a focus on positive, productive business relationships.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Must display proactive behaviour and take ownership of their actions
- Is highly punctual and maintains a good attendance record
- Has access to reliable transportation to work full-time hours as scheduled (40 hours per week)
- Has the ability to provide a criminal record check that is clear of any charges that could be related or have a direct correlation to the position or company
Job Details
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Salary Range: $62,000 - $72,000 annually, will be determined based on experience.
Status: Full-time, permanent position
Schedule: regularly 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, on call as required, subject to change as per operational requirements

- Must be willing to respond to alarms outside of regular operating hours as needed
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to: pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50lbs), standing, and walking for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to medical gloves, safety eyewear, face masks, fall arrest, etc.
- This position may involve exposure to cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to cannabis or plant pollen, or for anyone that experiences medical issues as a result of exposure to cannabis/plant materials
Environmental Demands
- Must be willing and able to work in/move through environments with variable temperature and humidity, and variable lighting.
- Must be able to work in an environment that uses cleaning products including, but not limited to, AM 717, Caustek Free, Powerquat, Isopropyl Alcohol, Formula 19, Windex, Scrubber Blue(toilet), Goo Gone, Stainless Steel Cleaner, Magic eraser, Vinegar, Century Tile Cleaner.
- Strong scent of cannabis plants
