The Drafter will be involved with the development and preparation of architectural designs and drawings, plans, diagrams, or layouts from sketches, and ensuring that design drawings conform to specifications and design data. Consider applying for this incredible opportunity!
The successful candidate will have duties such as but not limited to:
- Designing and preparing plans using computer-aided design and drafting software.
- Adding structural details to architectural plans from their knowledge of building techniques
- Checking and verifying designs to ensure that the drawings conform to design specifications and requirements.
- Coordinating and incorporating design revisions, redlines, and consultant inputs into drawing sets as required.
- Preparing construction specifications, costs, and material estimates
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5–7 years of architectural drafting experience.
- Working knowledge of the National Building Code (Part 3 and Part 9).
- Building materials and construction industry experience considered an asset.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SoftPlan.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of construction materials, manufacturing processes, and building methods and standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, tradespersons, and clients.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast‑paced, growing environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
