Meadow Park London is a fully accredited long term care home in London. Ontario and serves 126 residents. It is a growing urban center in Southwestern Ontario, and is known for its numerous parks, cultural attractions, and strong economy in sectors like agri-food, advanced manufacturing, and health sciences. Situated on the Thames River, London is located approximately 200 km west of Toronto and 200 km east of Windsor, it serves as a regional hub for medical, educational, and business services.
Join our team as a Registered Practical Nurse!
Reporting to the Director of Care, the role of a Registered Practical Nurse encompasses a wide range of professional nursing responsibilities in accordance with the standards of nursing practice as outlined by the College of Nurses. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, this role provides support in the coordination of care, overseeing designated nursing personnel, and executing tasks as delegated. The Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for delivering direct care in accordance with the established care plans, ensuring the accurate and timely documentation of resident information, facilitating the orientation of new team members and residents, and participating in assigned committees. This position also requires the application of quality improvement and risk management principles, as well as the efficient management of supplies and the meticulous upkeep of the physical environment and equipment.
We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:
- Candidates must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51
- Experience in a Long-Term Care (Gerontology) setting is an asset
- Performs care planning and coordination of care within a diverse multidisciplinary care team
- A demonstrated use of current care technology
- Shall exhibit strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ensures all MOH and MLTC requirements are met
- Must demonstrate good communication skills
- Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education, training, and professional development
- Must be computer literate
