About the Role

Reports to: Director of Strategic Partnerships

Exergy is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Development (BD) Associate to support our dynamic team.  This role focuses on supporting business development efforts by contributing to the creation and refinement of proposals, marketing materials, and client-facing content. This position plays a key role in crafting compelling sales collateral, including presentations, social media content, and website updates, to enhance brand visibility and support client engagement. Working closely with the Business Development team and business leadership, the Business Development Associate l ensures that all materials align with the company’s messaging and strategic goals, helping to drive growth and support the sales cycle from lead generation to proposal submission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Help organize and maintain the company’s CRM platform (HubSpot), to ensure accurate tracking of leads and client interaction, generate meaningful reports and analyze performance and customer feedback
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of marketing collateral such as brochures, presentations and web content
  • Coordinate meetings and follow up on action items, ensuring timely communication between team members and clients
  • Assist with conducting market research to identify trends and competitive landscape, providing insights to inform strategic decisions
  • Assist in managing the company’s social media channels, ensuring content is timely, accurate, and on-brand
  • Support the company leaders in planning, developing, and executing communication and marketing strategies and client facing events
    -   Coordinate with other departments to gather content for communications and marketing materials
    -   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a business development support or Inside sales role
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint, for proposal creation, data analysis and presentation/marketing materials creation
  • Experience working in engineering firms and producing documentation technical settings
  • Proficient in CRM platforms such as HubSpot for managing client interactions and data
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of business development processes and strategies
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and ownership of tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and willingness to learn new processes and tools
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
