Director, Operations & Development
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Director, Operations and Development to take full accountability for construction execution across our portfolio. This role leads projects from preconstruction planning through on site delivery and turnover, driving schedule discipline, cost control, safety, and build quality at an executive level.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director works closely with the Chief of Staff to ensure tight coordination between head office and property teams. The successful candidate is a decisive builder and operator, bringing rigorous construction leadership, supported by development expertise and a hospitality mindset focused on delivering durable, high performing resort communities.
Core Responsibilities
Construction & Project Delivery
Executive oversight of pre-construction through close out
Manage construction budgets, cost control, and change orders
Oversee general contractors and subtrades
Enforce safety, quality, and schedule compliance
Development Oversight
Lead feasibility analysis, site due diligence, budgeting, and development proformas
Manage entitlement, zoning, permitting, and approvals
Oversee planners, architects, engineers, and consultants
Maintain schedules, milestones, and executive reporting
Operations Integration
Coordinate with operations and property teams
Ensure smooth turnover from construction to operations
Support asset lifecycle and capital planning
Financial & Strategic Leadership
Own development and construction budgets
Identify cost saving opportunities
Support acquisitions and expansion initiatives
Deliver executive level reporting
Leadership & Collaboration
Act as a senior leader in strategic initiatives
Build and mentor internal teams
Liaise across finance, construction, and operations
Ideal Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
7–10+ years in land development, civil construction, or project management within the Canadian real estate market.
Resort, recreational, or master planned rural development experience OR oil & gas camp / man camp development or remote infrastructure project management experience.
Oil & gas camp development or remote infrastructure project management
Demonstrated experience overseeing construction and site execution.
Willing to live on site near Golden BC during construction season (option to stay year-round)
Practical knowledge of rural infrastructure systems (water, septic, drainage, etc.).
Industrial or civil engineering degree preferred; business or project management background with applicable industry experience considered.
Familiarity with varied ownership structures (leases, right-of-occupancy, equity sales, strata) considered an asset.
Hospitality or resort operations experience considered an asset.
Strong financial literacy in budgeting and cost control.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.

Over the next three to five years, Pinnacle will deliver more than 600 RV, glamping, and cabin lots across multiple properties. This role directly impacts speed to market, cost control, infrastructure quality, investor returns, guest experience, and brand reputation.

Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary: $120,000 – $200,000 (commensurate with experience)
