Physiotherapist - 0.5 FTE (External)
Job Summary:
The community Physiotherapist (PT) is part of the NECHC collaborative primary health team. The PT will work collaboratively with a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, dieticians, nurses, occupational therapists and non-health professional staff as the sole PT in the organization.
They will offer individual and if warranted, group physiotherapy to individuals who access one or more of the following services at the NECHC: NECHC primary clinic, MOSH, Housing First, MAP and Overlook. In addition to collaboration with staff and volunteers at the NECHC, collaboration with community agencies and systems (health, justice, income assistance) will be required. Location of work largely at the NECHC clinic with some need for home visits or visits to other community sites.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy or acceptable equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy
 - Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy Registration and eligibility for membership in Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
 - Holds current professional liability insurance.
 - Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role that requires a broad scope of practice, multiple demands and teamwork.
 - Experience in not for profits and health care setting preferred but not essential.
 - Experience working in a collaborative practice setting.
 - Experience working with people experiencing poverty, homelessness, and other social determinants of health issues an asset.
 - Experience working in a diverse and multicultural environment.
 - Valid class 5 NS driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract and access to own reliable vehicle (not for client transportation) asset.
